The leaves are turning, the air has a chill and the evenings are drawing in. We’ve had the ultimate summer here at Bloom (perfectly wrapped up with a poolside party for residents), but now we’re ready to welcome autumn with open arms. We’ve jotted down four of our favourite things to do in and around Bloom, Nine Elms to help you embrace the arrival of the colder months.

Take an autumnal walk around Battersea Park

To make the most of the arrival of autumn, wrap up warm and head fifteen minutes down the road to Battersea Park, one of London’s best green spaces (in our humble opinion). Walk through tree-lined pathways and take a lap around the lake. Nothing signals autumn like the crunch of orange leaves underfoot! For pet owners, Battersea Park is the perfect spot for a muddy run around, followed by a pamper in the pet spa at Bloom, of course.

To get out of the cold for a while, head to the Pear Tree Café, a waterfront, popular spot perfect for people-watching. If you’re in the market for some artwork, too, the Affordable Art Fair is returning to the park this October.

Grab a seasonal drink at District

Whether you’re a pumpkin spiced latte connoisseur or you go for a flat white all year round, District is one of our favourite neighbours and is a great local spot for a tasty pick-me-up. Offering a range of coffees, teas, smoothies, innovative brunch dishes and more, this pet-friendly café is great for catching up with friends and warming up with a seasonal treat. District Nine Elms is also available to hire for external catering – why not host an autumnal dinner party for you and your pals in one of our private dining rooms?

Sundays are for roast dinners

Roast dinner season is back, and there are plenty of spots in Nine Elms that are great for Sunday suppers with friends and family. Just a ten-minute walk from homes at Bloom, Darby’s is a NYC-inspired oyster bar, grill and bakery that we’ve mentioned a number of times before (we’re big fans). Their Sunday menu features a range of exciting dishes, including smoked eel with ojo verde, Hampshire pork belly with apple compote and Sunday trimmings, and gooseberry & custard profiteroles – delicious! It’s also one of foodie bible The Nudge’s Best Sunday Roasts recommendations, so you really can’t go wrong.

Bake seasonal treats in your Bloom kitchen

For days that are too chilly for outside adventures, stay inside and get baking in your Bloom kitchen. Fully equipped with integrated Smeg appliances and plenty of counter space, kitchens at Bloom offer all the space you need to master your culinary skills. Take inspiration from the season and bake cinnamon buns for a coffee morning with friends or pepper homemade focaccia with butternut squash, goats’ cheese and sage. Apples, blackberries, plums and rhubarbs are all in season, making them ideal choices for muffins, pies and crumbles.
